{"id":506,"date":"2007-09-29T00:20:19","date_gmt":"2007-09-29T05:20:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/andresb.net\/?p=506"},"modified":"2010-04-09T10:56:58","modified_gmt":"2010-04-09T16:56:58","slug":"og-mandino-al-desnudo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/andresb.net\/blog\/post\/2007\/09\/og-mandino-al-desnudo\/","title":{"rendered":"Og Mandino al desnudo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Un amigo me cont\u00f3 que a <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Og_Mandino\">Og Mandino<\/a> le gustaba quedarse en pelotas cuando dictaba sus libros.<\/p>\n<p>La editorial donde trabajaba mi amigo ten\u00eda los derechos de las ediciones en espa\u00f1ol del autor, as\u00ed que cuando el tipo se aprestaba a escribir, enviaban una dactil\u00f3grafa que tomara el dictado al mismo tiempo que la enviada de la editorial para el habla inglesa.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando Mandino ya era un personaje conocido, lo instalaban en las amplias suites del Hotel Plaza de New York para que nada empa\u00f1ara su inspiraci\u00f3n. Con cada libro se repet\u00eda el mismo ritual: mientras las chicas aprestaban sus m\u00e1quinas de escribir y se acomodaban en sus escritorios, Mandino se despertaba y sal\u00eda de la habitaci\u00f3n completamente desnudo, a perseguir a las chicas.<\/p>\n<p>Siempre el mismo ritual en el tel\u00e9fono: una dactil\u00f3grafa llorosa, semiencerrada en un ba\u00f1o telefoneando a la editorial y renunciando en el acto, mientras que desde ac\u00e1 trataban de calmarla y darle tips para resistir las aceleradas del vendedor m\u00e1s grande del mundo.<\/p>\n<p>Cada libro costaba varios boletos de avi\u00f3n imprevistos. Parece que nunca hubo dos libros transcriptos por una misma dactil\u00f3grafa. Igual se vend\u00eda bien, y las an\u00e9cdotas son la mejor parte.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Og Mandino nude, literally<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A friend told me that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Og_Mandino\">Og Mandino<\/a> liked to dictate his books totally nude.<\/p>\n<p>When inspiraton came, Mandino was sent to a huge suite in the Plaza at NY, along with two girls that would take dictation and transcribe in English and Spanish simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>My friend worked for the mexican editorial house and he told me it was always the same game with Og. While the girls prepped their wares, Mandino would come out of his bedroom totally naked and start chasing the girls.<\/p>\n<p>Within minutes, a phone call from the bathroom and a sobbing girl quitting her job, while the mexican team tried to clam her and give her tips to avoid the advances from the greatest salesman in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Every book resulted in extra plane tickets, and never one girl worked on two books.
