Vivir en los mercados<\/em>. Con su proyecto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fnpi.org\/seix\/2005\/ganador.asp\">gan\u00f3 el premio Cr\u00f3nicas Seix Barral<\/a>, que incluye la participaci\u00f3n de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.literatura.org\/Caparros\/index.html\">Mart\u00edn Caparr\u00f3s<\/a> como tutor durante el proceso creativo.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hernanii.typepad.com\/blog\/2006\/11\/hay_dos_motivos.html\">Hern\u00e1n se propuso bloguear el proceso<\/a>, y aplaudo. Mi curiosidad desmedida no se resiste a semejante invitaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Hay un punto en el que disiento, con \u00e9l y Caparr\u00f3s (despu\u00e9s hablamos de lo bien que se siente poder decir \u00abCaparr\u00f3s se equivoca\u00bb, o \u00abNo estoy de acuerdo con Seth Godin\u00bb, aunque haya mundos de diferencia, y usualmente hacia arriba). No creo que en el blog deba \u00abguardarse\u00bb cosas, \u00abcosas que s\u00f3lo sepan los que lean el libro\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Creo que en primer lugar, el blog y el libro apuntan a audiencias y tratan temas que pr\u00e1cticamente no se superponen. Por otro lado, no creo que la tem\u00e1tica del libro pierda atractivo si me dice qui\u00e9n era el Premio Nobel que los salud\u00f3 a Cavallo y a \u00e9l en el Harvard Club de Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el punto de vista \u00abcomercial\u00bb (<em>no cuentes eso que restas incentivos para comprarlo<\/em>), tampoco olvidemos el \u00abtotem value\u00bb del libro: si fuera tan f\u00e1cil reemplazarlo por un blog, no habr\u00eda incentivos para imprimirlo, en primer lugar. Tan valioso es el libro impreso para el autor como para el lector. Creo que el papel y el blog ocupan planos diferentes; hay quien puede -o pretende- hacer  alta literatura con su blog, pero es medio dif\u00edcil que el Flaubert de esta d\u00e9cada sea 100% digital.<\/p>\n<p>Y quiero una copia firmada, Hern\u00e1n, porque yo, cuando voy a la playa, prefiero 100 veces Flaubert antes que Slashdot.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing a book and blogging it<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hernanii.typepad.com\/blog\/\">Hernan Iglesias Illa<\/a> has a project for a book that won the Seix Barral Chronicle Award: <em>Golden Boys. Living the markets<\/em> (<em>Golden Boys. Viviendo en los mercados<\/em>. This is my own non-accurate translation).<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;ll blog the process of writing it, with accounts of the interviews he&#8217;ll perform and the characters he&#8217;ll meet. Great reading for the insatiably curious.<\/p>\n<p>He was wondering what to \u00ableave out\u00bb of his blogging, to not give away too much of the story on the blog, but I believe he shouldn&#8217;t think of the blog as an antagonist of the book. They cater to different crowds, and tell totally different stories.<\/p>\n<p>The book has a \u00abtotem value\u00bb, for the author as much as for the reader. If it was that easy to replace books for blogs, the incentive to print books wouldn&#8217;t exist.<\/p>\n<p>I want my signed copy, Hern\u00e1n.
