Hay m\u00e1s oro en una tonelada de PCs descartadas que en 17 toneladas de la roca extra\u00edda de una mina de oro. A esto sumemos cobre, aluminio y otros materiales que tambi\u00e9n pueden recuperarse de los desechos tecnol\u00f3gicos.<\/p>\n

Hay un verdadero tesoro en los basureros de las grandes ciudades, que cada d\u00eda se alimenta de miles o millones de computadoras y otros equipos descartados.<\/p>\n

La tecnolog\u00eda para detectar y separar los componentes est\u00e1 disponible y probada desde los ’90, aunque el proceso no es eficiente a\u00fan. Pero si tomamos el ahorro de energ\u00eda (reciclar aluminio consume s\u00f3lo el 5% de la energ\u00eda que se requerir\u00eda para extraerlo), m\u00e1s algunas innovaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas que permitan realizar simulaciones para aprovechar mejor la prospecci\u00f3n y extracci\u00f3n de residuos, el proceso se vuelve rentable inmediatamente.<\/p>\n
